About Sergia Starr
Nuyorican, actress, writer, educator, director, producer. entrepreneur and life coach, Sergia (Perez) Starr, has been empowering audiences with her stories and her Write 2 Live - Workshops for over 20 years. Her love for helping others to seek joy and to pursue their passion in life started at a very young age when she worked with Mind-Builders Creative Arts Center, Positive Youth Troupe (PYT) Musical Theater Company, in The Bronx.
- Sergia Starr’s one-woman show I DIDN’T CRY has been performed at the Nuyorican Poet’s Café, 42nd Street Theater (NY), 14th Street Playhouse (ATL), and twice at the Los Angeles Women’s Theatre Festival.
- She has toured colleges, universities, and public schools across the U.S., reaching thousands of students in New York and Los Angeles.
- A self-published author, Sergia has written plays, short films, and feature scripts—several of which are in talks for production. Her short film HARLEM JEZEBEL was nominated for Best Short Film at the 2018 Content Creators of Atlanta Awards.
- Sergia has also partnered with youth organizations like Street Children Empowerment Foundation (West Africa), Positive Youth Troupe (NY), and It’s Just Us in the Community (ATL) to support urban youth.
- Currently, she runs Write 2 Live, LLC (www.write2.live), offering goal-setting, writing workshops, and one-on-one coaching for youth and adults.
